Hyman Bloom’s Leg and Skull is one of his series of paintings done of decaying corpses. Not so much with an infatuation of death per se, but with an interest in the natural process of decay and the beautiful colors that are produced. Bloom uses a pallet of vivid greens, blues, golden yellows, reds, and browns, some of which have a shimmering quality. Decay is in no rush, yet very alive and active. It is organic and can be beautiful;; something that Bloom saw and captured well. I hope to capture these same qualities musically, and maintain an active, yet unrushed, shimmering and organic sound world.
